The World Bank has a country portal with tons of information that you should bookmark if you want to dig up statistics or background information. All the information is in English, as far as I can tell.
La Esquina del Movimiento (roughly meaning Street Buzz or, literally, the Corner of Movement) is
just outside the University Rector's Office on the main square of Ayacucho,
or Huamanga to those who love it best. It got that name because it's where the
students, professors and pueblerinos gathered to read the Lima newspapers,
talk politics and taste life. It was the epicenter of Huamanga's vitality
before the violence of the '80s and early '90s ravaged the town. Now Huamanguinos,
Peruvians and Peruvians at heart are scattered around the world so this
page -- and website -- tries to imitate that magic.
